HINDI SONGS INTRO

Music to some like me is the essence of life. A happy song on a sad day can cheer you up and a sad day at times when you’re happy can still manage to get a tear to your eye. Hindi is the most widely spoken language of India and needless to say that there’s a song for every occasion and emotion. Most of the Hindi songs be they  old golden classics or new hit ones even the recent remix pop songs can be downloaded free online in various formats like real audio, mp3, wma etc.

Hindi movies would be impossible to imagine without its music. There are many instances when the music of the movie has made it a runaway success. The old Hindi songs were full of rich meaningful lyrics and melody. Such songs are available for free download online. Listening to songs like itna na mujhse tu pyar badha, aapki nazaron ne samjha, pyar  hua ikraar hua can transport you to an era when love was innocent and beautiful. In contrast the new Hindi movie songs concentrate more on the disco beats and the rhythm of the song. The lyrics today in comparison, barring songs written by Gulzar and Javed Akhtar, make little sense.

The old time music directors included great composers like Naushad, O P Nair, Khayyam, S D Burman, Madan Mohan to name a few. The composer today who truly stands out has to AR Rahman. Others include Himesh Reshamiya, Jatin Lalit, Anu Malik, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Vishal Shekhar, Ismail Durbar, Bappi Lahiri etc.

Lata Mangeshkar has sung songs which will be etched in our memories forever. Her rendition of Ae mere watan ke logon had made Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s eyes moist. Other famous singers over the years have been Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Geeta Bali, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghosal, Kunal Ganjawala etc.

The late 80’s and 90’s saw the birth of the Hindi pop music industry or Indipop as it’s also referred to as. The music industry was started off by Biddu in the late 80’s but it was only when Alisha Chinai the made in India girl came out with her hindi album that the music industry got the rightful spot it deserved. Most hit pop songs are downloadable for free. Other singers who influenced Indipop were Apache Indian, Daler Mehendi, Baba Sehgal, and Euphoria notably and others were Anaida, Mehnaz, Bali B, Remo, Shubha Mudgal, Vikas Bhalla etc.
